Mr. President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
I heartily congratulate you on the successful rescue of the Oriire students and teachers whose ordeal has gripped the conscience of our nation over the past weeks. This achievement is a significant victory for Nigeria and a reassuring demonstration that the resolve of the state remains stronger than the forces of criminality.
I extend my profound appreciation to the men and women of our Armed Forces, intelligence services, police, civil defence, and all members of the combined security architecture whose professionalism, courage, and sacrifice made this operation successful. Their dedication to duty reflects the finest traditions of service to our nation.
This success should also serve as a reminder that while progress is being made, the task before us is not yet complete. We must sustain the momentum of ongoing security operations and intensify efforts to locate, dismantle, and destroy the criminal networks that continue to threaten the peace and stability of our communities. The fight against kidnapping, banditry, terrorism, and violent criminality must remain relentless until lasting security is restored across our land.
Many Nigerians have observed with encouragement the renewed vigor being demonstrated in the battle against insecurity. This achievement reinforces confidence in the capacity of our security institutions when properly coordinated and supported.
I also wish to acknowledge the valuable contributions of our international partners, particularly the United States of America, whose continued cooperation and commitment to supporting Nigeria’s security efforts remain important during this challenging period. Strong partnerships enhance our collective capacity to confront increasingly complex security threats.
To the rescued students, teachers, their families, and all those affected by this painful experience, I pray for healing, comfort, and restoration. May the trauma of these difficult weeks give way to renewed hope and confidence in the future.
I congratulate the Government and people of Oyo State on the successful conclusion of what has undoubtedly been a trying and anxious period. Their patience, resilience, and faith throughout this ordeal deserve commendation.
This moment also presents an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of securing and developing every part of our national territory. Security and development are inseparable. Communities that are effectively governed, economically empowered, and socially integrated are far less vulnerable to criminal exploitation. It is therefore imperative that we continue to strengthen local government institutions and empower them to play their constitutional role in grassroots development and community security.
Furthermore, the urgency of implementing State Police has become increasingly evident. The realities of modern security challenges require a more responsive and locally rooted policing framework. As a nation, we must continue the conversation and take the necessary steps toward a security architecture that reflects our federal character and developmental aspirations.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
May peace, security, and prosperity return to every corner of our nation.
And may your administration continue to succeed in its efforts to build a safer, stronger, and more united Nigeria, for the success of your government is inseparable from the success of our country.
