The death of Mr. Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Emir Ajagungbade, has sparked outrage and sorrow, with Abuja-based lawyer and rights activist Pelumi Olajengbesi, a chieftain of the Accord Party, condemning the violent circumstances surrounding the incident.
Describing the killing as “deeply unfortunate and painful,” Olajengbesi stressed that the loss of any life through violence should trouble the conscience of society. He urged Nigerians to reflect on the values being passed to future generations, warning against a culture that glorifies force over character.
“We must collectively choose a better path. We must rebuild our value system, discourage the culture of violence in all its forms, and ensure that the generation coming behind us inherits a society with greater respect for human dignity and the sanctity of life,” he said.
The activist called for a thorough and independent investigation into the circumstances of Oyeyemi’s death, insisting that all those responsible must face justice. He emphasized that no individual or group should be allowed to take another person’s life and escape accountability.
Offering condolences to the bereaved family and community, Olajengbesi prayed for peace in Osun State, urging leaders and citizens alike to work toward a society where human life is respected and protected.
