Former House of Representatives member for Dutsinma/Kurfi Federal Constituency, Hon. Danlami Muhammad Kurfi, has declared that any member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who failed to attend the recent inauguration of the party’s campaign structures in Katsina State cannot genuinely claim to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dikko Umar Radda, or the APC.
Kurfi made the remarks while addressing party supporters after what he described as a historic gathering to inaugurate campaign committees for President Tinubu, Governor Radda, and other APC candidates ahead of future elections.
According to him, the massive turnout at the event sent a powerful political message not only within Katsina State but across Nigeria, demonstrating the strength, unity, and grassroots appeal of the ruling party in the state.
“Anyone who deliberately stayed away from that gathering has clearly shown where they stand,” Kurfi said. “If you are a committed APC member and the President’s campaign committee is being inaugurated in the presence of the state governor, there is no reason to be absent. Such a decision raises serious questions about loyalty to the party and its leadership.”
The former lawmaker argued that the scale of participation at the event had reinforced Katsina’s position as one of the APC’s strongest political strongholds in the country. He maintained that the overwhelming turnout reflected growing confidence in Governor Radda’s administration and support for President Tinubu’s leadership.
Praises Radda’s New APC Secretariat
Kurfi used the occasion to applaud Governor Radda for what he described as a significant achievement in party development: the construction of a permanent APC state secretariat in Katsina.
He described the facility as one of the most impressive party headquarters in Nigeria, saying it represents a landmark investment in the institutional growth of the party.
According to him, the secretariat stands as a symbol of political organization, commitment, and long-term vision, adding that other states may eventually draw inspiration from the Katsina example.
‘Unprecedented Unity Within APC’
The former federal legislator also highlighted what he called an unprecedented display of unity among APC stakeholders in the state.
He noted that former aspirants, candidates, party leaders, and grassroots supporters from different political backgrounds gathered under one platform to demonstrate support for Governor Radda and the APC.
Kurfi said the event showcased a level of political cohesion rarely witnessed in previous election cycles, arguing that it reflects confidence in the governor’s leadership style and developmental agenda.
“The gathering was not just about numbers,” he said. “It was about unity, commitment, and a collective belief in the direction the state is heading under Governor Dikko Umar Radda.”
Confidence in APC’s Electoral Prospects
Expressing optimism about future elections, Kurfi said the strength demonstrated at the event convinced him that the APC remains firmly positioned for electoral success in Katsina State.
He argued that the party’s grassroots structure, combined with the governor’s popularity and the administration’s performance, would translate into significant electoral advantages.
According to him, anyone who claims the APC is weak in Katsina is ignoring the clear evidence provided by the turnout witnessed at the inauguration ceremony.
Criticises Politics of Wealth and Influence
In a broader reflection on politics and leadership, Kurfi criticised politicians who rely solely on financial influence rather than service to the people.
He argued that political relevance should not be measured by wealth accumulation but by meaningful contributions to society, such as supporting healthcare, creating economic opportunities, and improving community welfare.
The former lawmaker warned against what he described as the illusion of temporary wealth, noting that many influential figures from previous administrations have faded from public relevance after leaving office.
According to him, genuine political legacy is built through service, not personal enrichment.
He urged wealthy individuals to invest in the welfare of their communities and provide opportunities for their relatives and constituents instead of making public displays of affluence.
Commends Security Gains Under Radda
Kurfi also expressed satisfaction with recent security improvements in parts of Katsina State, particularly in his home area of Kurfi Local Government Area.
He stated that communities that previously faced security challenges have experienced greater stability and peace under the current administration.
According to him, residents in several areas have enjoyed improved safety conditions, enabling them to go about their daily activities with greater confidence.
Calls for Continued Support
Concluding his address, Kurfi called on residents of Katsina State to continue supporting Governor Radda and the APC, insisting that the governor’s achievements and grassroots engagement have earned him the confidence of many citizens.
He described Radda as a leader whose policies and direct engagement with ordinary people have distinguished his administration and strengthened public trust.
The former lawmaker urged voters to consolidate the gains recorded by the current administration by remaining loyal to the APC and supporting its candidates in future elections.
“We have assessed Governor Dikko Umar Radda and the people have seen his efforts,” Kurfi said. “The task before us is to remain united, support the APC, and ensure that the progress being witnessed across the state continues.”
