A former member of the House of Representatives and former Chairman of the National Rural Electrification Board, Hon. Danlami Mohammed Kurfi, has clarified remarks attributed to him regarding a recent political meeting convened by Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, reaffirming his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its leadership.

Kurfi, who also served in the Katsina State House of Assembly, made the clarification in a video statement following reports and interpretations of his comments that emerged after the meeting.

According to him, his appeal for party members to attend the gathering was intended to encourage unity, solidarity, and active participation in APC affairs. He explained that attendance at such meetings demonstrates support for the party, the administration of Governor Radda, and the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The former lawmaker stated that his comments regarding those who were absent from the meeting were not meant to criticize or condemn anyone. Rather, he said the remarks were intended to underscore the significance of participating in important party engagements and the perception such participation creates regarding commitment to the party’s objectives.

Kurfi emphasized that it would be inaccurate to interpret his comments as suggesting that every individual who failed to attend the meeting was not a supporter of the APC or President Tinubu.

He cautioned against misrepresentation of his statements and urged party members, supporters, and the public to verify information and seek the full context of his remarks before drawing conclusions.

The APC chieftain reiterated his support for Governor Radda’s administration and President Tinubu’s leadership, stressing the need for unity and cooperation among party members as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His clarification comes amid growing political consultations and mobilization efforts within the Katsina State chapter of the APC as party stakeholders continue to strengthen internal cohesion in preparation for future electoral contests.
