Governor Abiodun Honoured as Distinguished Benefactor at Egba Anglican Diocese 50th Anniversary

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, was on Sunday honoured as a Distinguished Benefactor of the Egba Anglican Diocese during the Diocese’s 50th anniversary celebration held at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Ake, Abeokuta.

The event, which brought together prominent religious and traditional leaders, featured the presentation of the award to Governor Abiodun in recognition of his support and contributions to the growth of the Diocese and the Anglican Communion in Nigeria.

Among the dignitaries present were the Diocesan Bishop of Egba Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev’d Oludaisi Adekunle; the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo; the Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria Anglican Communion, The Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba; former Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Archbishop Peter Akinola; and the Bishop of Remo Anglican Diocese and Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos, Rt. Rev’d Olusina Fape.

The award presentation was a highlight of the golden jubilee celebration, which reflected on the Diocese’s journey over the past five decades and its role in advancing faith, education, and community development in Egbaland and beyond.

Governor Abiodun, in his remarks, expressed gratitude for the honour and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting religious institutions as partners in promoting peace, moral values, and social development across Ogun State.
