Hon. Rotimi Makinde, a former federal lawmaker who represented Ife Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, has extended warm congratulations to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, on the occasion of his 72nd birthday.
Born on September 29, 1954, in Iragbiji, Osun State, Oyetola has built a distinguished career as a technocrat, financial expert, and public servant.
He previously served as Governor of Osun State and Chief of Staff before his current role as Minister, where he is driving reforms in Nigeria’s marine and blue economy sector.
In a personally signed statement released to journalists, Makinde described Oyetola as “a seasoned technocrat, visionary, passionate, and selfless leader who has consistently demonstrated competence and integrity in both private and public service.”
Makinde praised Oyetola’s ability to manage human and material resources effectively, noting his pragmatic leadership style and developmental strides during his tenure as Governor of Osun State.
He highlighted Oyetola’s skill in managing lean resources while delivering impactful projects across sectors.
“Oyetola has displayed exemplary leadership as Chief of Staff, Governor of Osun State, and now as Minister of Marine and Blue Economy. His contributions to the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration are commendable,” Makinde stated.
The APC chieftain further emphasized that Oyetola’s wealth of experience in finance and governance continues to position him as a model of good sub-national leadership in Nigeria.
