Prominent business leader, community stakeholder, and grassroots mobilizer, Chief Simon Eze, has afresh thrown his full weight behind the re-election bid of Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, declaring that the governor deserves a second term to consolidate what he described as the ongoing economic transformation and industrial renaissance taking place across the state.
Chief Eze, who is widely respected for his political mobilization efforts and growing influence within Akpugo Community in Nkanu West Local Government Area, said Governor Mbah’s performance since assuming office has provided compelling reasons for the people of Enugu State to renew his mandate in 2027.
The renowned entrepreneur, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Golden Tree Hotel and Suites and Seamark Electric Plc, commended Governor Mbah for what he called “visionary, purposeful, and result-driven leadership” that has repositioned Enugu as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing investment destinations.
Speaking while addressing supporters and community stakeholders, Chief Eze praised the governor’s commitment to youth empowerment, human capital development, education, innovation, and economic expansion, stressing that the administration’s investments in people would yield lasting benefits for generations to come.
According to him, Governor Mbah has demonstrated an uncommon understanding of the fact that sustainable development begins with investing in the capacity and potential of young people.
“Governor Peter Mbah has shown that true leadership is about preparing the next generation for success. His administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, capacity building, education, skills acquisition, technology, and innovation is creating a foundation upon which young people can compete not just in Nigeria but globally. This is the kind of leadership Enugu State must sustain beyond 2027.”
Chief Eze specifically applauded the governor’s emphasis on developing an innovation-driven economy through projects such as the Enugu Talent City initiative and the proposed Artificial Intelligence Institute, describing them as bold steps toward positioning Enugu as the technology and knowledge capital of southeastern Nigeria.
He noted that at a time when economies around the world are being reshaped by digital transformation and artificial intelligence, Governor Mbah has demonstrated foresight by investing in platforms that will prepare Enugu youths for emerging global opportunities.
“While many leaders focus only on today’s challenges, Governor Mbah is preparing Enugu for tomorrow’s opportunities. Through strategic investments in digital infrastructure, technology, innovation hubs, and educational reforms, he is building a generation that will drive the state’s economic growth for decades to come.”
The Akpugo stakeholder also hailed the administration’s efforts to transform Enugu into a major industrial and commercial hub through strategic infrastructure development, investment promotion, improved connectivity, and business-friendly policies.
According to him, the concession of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport and other economic initiatives being championed by the governor have significantly enhanced Enugu’s attractiveness as a destination for investors, exporters, entrepreneurs, and multinational businesses.
Chief Eze said the governor’s development agenda is creating an environment where businesses can thrive, jobs can be created, and communities can experience inclusive growth.
“For the first time in many years, investors are looking at Enugu with renewed confidence. The governor’s economic vision is clear. His administration is laying the groundwork for industrial expansion, agricultural productivity, technology-driven enterprises, tourism development, and private sector growth. These are the ingredients needed to build a prosperous state.”
Expressing confidence in Governor Mbah’s re-election prospects, Chief Eze said the overwhelming support the governor enjoys across communities reflects the impact of his administration’s policies and programmes.
He added that the people of Akpugo, Nkanu West, and indeed Enugu State at large recognize the importance of continuity in governance, particularly at a time when transformational projects are beginning to yield tangible results.
“Development is a journey, not an event. The progress we are witnessing today requires continuity and consistency. Governor Peter Mbah has started a transformational process that deserves the support of all well-meaning citizens. I strongly believe he should be supported to continue this great work until 2031 in order to fully realize his vision of a modern, prosperous, and globally competitive Enugu State.”
Chief Eze therefore called on youths, women, community leaders, professionals, business owners, and political stakeholders across the state to rally behind Governor Mbah’s re-election bid, emphasizing that the future of Enugu depends on sustaining policies that prioritize education, innovation, enterprise, human capital development, and economic growth.
He maintained that under Governor Mbah’s leadership, Enugu is steadily emerging as a model of progressive governance and a destination for investment, talent, and opportunity.
“Governor Peter Mbah has invested in what truly matters, our people. By empowering youths, expanding opportunities, building capacity, and creating pathways for innovation and enterprise, he is shaping a brighter future for Enugu. The best way to consolidate these gains is to ensure continuity of his administration beyond 2027.”
Political observers believe that endorsements from influential stakeholders such as Chief Simon Eze could further strengthen grassroots support for Governor Mbah as conversations surrounding the 2027 governorship election continue to gather momentum across Enugu State.
