As political activities gradually intensify ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, the Working People United (WoPU) has expressed strong support for the newly inaugurated All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), describing the over 100-member body as a formidable team capable of securing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, WoPU congratulated President Tinubu, the APC leadership, and members of the newly constituted campaign council, while emphasizing that the inauguration should mark the beginning of a vigorous and results-driven campaign effort.
The statement, signed by WoPU Coordinator-General, Comrade Prince Williams Eniredonana Akporeha, commended the composition of the council, particularly the inclusion of governors outside the APC fold, which it described as a strategic move aimed at broadening political support. The group also lauded the council members for their wealth of experience, loyalty to the party, and proven political capacity.
While celebrating the inauguration, WoPU stressed that the council’s ultimate measure of success would be its ability to deliver what it termed a decisive and historic electoral victory for President Tinubu in the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
According to the group, the task before the campaign council extends far beyond ceremonial appointments.
“You have been selected not merely to occupy positions, but to chart the course to victory,” the statement noted, portraying the council as the APC’s frontline political machinery for the 2027 campaign.
WoPU further stated that campaign strategies, grassroots mobilization, stakeholder engagement, and political rallies would only be meaningful if they culminate in the re-election of President Tinubu with a commanding mandate from Nigerians.
The organization also urged council members to remain focused, disciplined, and united in pursuing their objectives, cautioning against distractions that could undermine the campaign’s effectiveness. It maintained that history would assess the council not by the scale of its inauguration but by the electoral results it ultimately delivers.
The endorsement comes in the wake of the APC’s inauguration of its updated 2027 Presidential Campaign Council at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, signaling the party’s readiness for what is expected to be a highly competitive election cycle.
With political alignments already taking shape across the country, WoPU’s message was clear: the newly inaugurated council has a singular mission, to secure President Tinubu’s re-election through a convincing and landslide victory in 2027.
