Olufemi Aduwo, President of the Centre for Convention on Democratic Integrity (CCDI), with a presence in Nigeria and the United States, and Permanent Representative of CCDI to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), has been elected Vice-President of the central body of the Civil Society Policy Forum (CSPF).
The election took place on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, during the ongoing World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors in Bangkok, Thailand.
Aduwo, who has participated in the Annual Meetings since 2012, has contributed consistently to global development policy discourse, institutional accountability and dialogue on the World Bank Group’s development objectives.
His election will enable him to contribute more directly to policy deliberations, strengthen civil society participation and advance accountability in the engagement between civil society organisations and the Bretton Woods institutions. It also offers an avenue for closer collaboration with the World Bank’s Independent Integrity Group on matters of institutional integrity and accountability.
World Bank President Ajay Banga has commended Aduwo’s contributions, recognising his sustained engagement with development issues and the importance of civil society participation in shaping policies that affect communities worldwide.
His election represents a new chapter in his longstanding engagement with international development institutions and reinforces the importance of civil society participation in promoting inclusive development, transparency and institutional effectiveness.
