Chief Simon Eze, a prominent community leader from Akpugo in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, has applauded Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his transformative leadership, describing Enugu as Nigeria’s fastest-growing state.
His remarks follow the 2026 Phillips Consulting State Performance Momentum Index, which ranked Enugu as the nation’s fastest-improving state, outperforming 32 others in governance and development indicators.
Eze, a Lagos-based businessman and owner of Seamark Electric Plc and Golden Tree Hotel & Suites, praised Governor Mbah’s policies, noting that they have accelerated economic growth, strengthened infrastructure, and elevated Enugu’s national profile. He emphasised that continuity in leadership is essential to consolidate these gains, pledging that the Akpugo people are solidly behind the governor’s reelection bid.
“This is good news for the people of Enugu State, and I join other well-meaning Nigerians in congratulating Governor Mbah on this achievement,” Eze said in a statement. “From security to health, education, agriculture, transport, tourism, and infrastructure, he has transformed the state in just three years, achieving what many could not in eight.”
He added that the Phillips report validates the widespread endorsement of Governor Mbah across Enugu’s three senatorial districts, stressing that his reelection campaign will be driven by performance rather than promises.
“Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is today the poster boy for good sub-national governance in Nigeria. Like him or not, his record speaks for itself, and we are proud of him,” Eze declared.
