Otunba Segun Showunmi, convener of the National Opposition Movement Coalition (NOMC), a platform aimed at fostering grassroots consensus for the selection of future leaders has described Seyi Tinubu as “a son worthy of admiration and gratitude.”

In a recent Facebook post, the former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar noted that every father would be thankful to God for a child like Seyi, praising his humility, inclusiveness, and commitment to service.

Showunmi, who also leads The Alternative Movement, revealed that he recently visited the City Boy Movement office, where Seyi personally welcomed him and conducted a tour of the facility. He emphasized that what impressed him most was not the physical infrastructure but the organisational culture—one that deliberately fosters inclusivity by bringing together young Nigerians across ethnic, religious, and social divides.

“No father can have a son like Seyi Tinubu and not be deeply thankful to Almighty God,” Showunmi wrote. “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I am genuinely happy for you. Among the greatest blessings bestowed upon any father is to see his values reflected in his children. In Seyi, I see a young man striving to justify the confidence reposed in him through effort and commitment.”

Inclusive Leadership and Organisational Culture
Showunmi observed that the City Boy Movement reflects deliberate leadership choices, noting its gender balance and inclusion of persons living with disabilities. He said Seyi’s interactions with his team left a lasting impression, highlighting his humility and respect for colleagues.

“What struck me most was not the structure but the culture,” he explained. “I watched Seyi interact with his team, sharing snacks with back‑end staff without airs of superiority. Respect flowed naturally, and his people appeared motivated not just because they worked with him, but because they felt genuinely valued.”

Humility and Service Beyond Public Attention
According to Showunmi, true leadership is often revealed away from the spotlight. He commended Seyi for demonstrating humility, energy, and dedication to service, describing him as a younger brother whose commitment makes him proud.

“The seeds you are planting today will bear fruit tomorrow,” he wrote. “The hours you spend, the sacrifices you make, and the bridges you are building across our national divides will not go unnoticed.”

Contribution to National Unity
Showunmi expressed confidence that Seyi Tinubu’s efforts will significantly advance the political cause he supports, while also serving as a model of how political engagement can be organised, inclusive, respectful, and purposeful.

He concluded by stressing the importance of young leaders in nation‑building:

“Every father desires a son who will add value to his legacy. Every nation needs young men and women prepared to unite people and serve with humility. From what I have seen, Seyi Tinubu is striving to be such a man.”
