The Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Rasaq Akorede Olojede, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, joined traditional rulers, chiefs, Baales, cultural custodians, and residents in commemorating Isese Day—a sacred occasion dedicated to the preservation of Yoruba heritage and ancestral wisdom.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman Olojede described Isese Day as more than a festive observance, calling it a vital platform to honor ancestral values, promote cultural identity, and safeguard indigenous practices for generations yet unborn. He emphasized that Yoruba traditions embody the philosophy of Omoluabi—character, truth, respect, hard work, and unity—which remain the foundation for building a stronger and more united Oriade LCDA.

Olojede urged the youth to embrace their cultural roots with pride and resist the erosion of traditional values in the face of modernization. He stressed that preserving Yoruba heritage is both a duty to history and a pathway to fostering peace, respect, and collective progress.

The colorful celebration featured prayers, traditional rites, and cultural performances, showcasing the vibrancy and resilience of Yoruba traditions. In his goodwill message, Chairman Olojede reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting cultural awareness while delivering good governance.

“Isese is our identity. Whether Christian, Muslim, or Traditionalist, we are one people with one destiny. My prayer is that our land be blessed, our culture flourish, and peace, prosperity, and progress reign in every home in Oriade LCDA,” he declared.

The event underscored Oriade LCDA’s dedication to cultural preservation, unity, and sustainable development, as residents celebrated with pride, dignity, and love for their roots.
