The Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Rasaq Akorede Olojede, has called on all eligible residents of Oriade LCDA and the wider Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency to immediately collect their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs), describing the card as the most powerful tool for democratic participation.

In a public announcement issued to residents, Olojede stressed that possession of a PVC remains essential for citizens who wish to influence leadership decisions and participate fully in the electoral process.

According to the council chairman, every eligible voter who has completed registration should take advantage of the designated collection period to obtain their cards from authorised Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collection centres across the constituency.

“Your PVC is your power. Your PVC is your voice. Your PVC is your future. Without it, you cannot decide who leads you,” Olojede stated, urging residents not to miss the opportunity.

The PVC collection exercise is scheduled to hold from October 9 to October 15, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily, at all INEC collection centres located across the wards in Amuwo-Odofin. Collection will take place from Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays.

The Oriade LCDA chairman also reminded residents that the exercise is strictly personal, noting that PVCs will not be released through representatives or proxies.

He appealed to community members, particularly first-time registrants, to demonstrate civic responsibility by collecting their cards and preparing to participate in future elections.

Political observers note that voter card collection campaigns are often aimed at increasing voter participation and strengthening democratic engagement at the grassroots level.

Olojede concluded by encouraging residents to act promptly, emphasizing that every vote matters and that obtaining a PVC is the first step toward making their voices heard in the electoral process.

“Go get your PVC today because your vote counts,” he said.
