Kano-based businesswoman and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Hajia Fatima Asabe Gamawa, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his economic reforms and assured that his second-term re-election bid in 2027 is “a done deal,” dismissing opposition efforts as futile.
Speaking on recent government interventions, Hajia Fatima praised the Federal Government’s introduction of a 30-day petrol discount by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), describing it as a bold step to cushion the impact of subsidy removal and ease the burden on households and transport operators.
She emphasized that the discount, which prioritizes public transporters, is not a return to the old subsidy regime but a demonstration that reforms can directly improve the lives of Nigerians.
She further urged APC governors to remain steadfast in supporting the party’s candidates at all levels, warning against any arrangement that could undermine party loyalty.
Addressing the controversy surrounding the proposed “Rainbow Coalition,” Hajia Fatima insisted that APC governors must not back candidates from other political parties in the 2027 general elections.
“As a party, we will not support any candidate outside our platform. The governors’ position is clear—they will promote APC in their respective states and support only APC candidates,” she declared.
Her remarks come amid tensions between APC governors and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), over the coalition’s strategy of mobilizing support for Tinubu’s re-election while allowing participants to back candidates from other parties in state and legislative contests.
Hajia Fatima dismissed the arrangement as a potential disservice to APC’s advancement, stressing that the party’s electoral interests must remain central to its campaign strategy.
She concluded by reaffirming her confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and reforms, describing his re-election bid as unstoppable.
