Pelumi Olajengbesi, Abuja-based legal practitioner and spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council (TICC) in the recently concluded Osun State gubernatorial election, has commended Senator Francis Fadahunsi for congratulating Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, describing the gesture as “the spirit our politics requires after every contest.”

Olajengbesi, in a statement seen by Veracity Desk (veracitydesk.com) however, urged other political leaders, including Hon. Wole Oke, to respect the verdict of the people and extend similar goodwill to Governor Adeleke. He emphasized that politics must ultimately serve the development of citizens rather than perpetuate endless rivalry, noting that such gestures would inspire the younger generation and reinforce the principle that “the people must always come first.”

On a personal note, Olajengbesi acknowledged Senator Fadahunsi’s private apology over “false and deeply unfortunate statements” made about his family during the heated campaign. While expressing appreciation for the senator’s humility, he insisted that justice would only be complete with a public withdrawal of the remarks and an apology to the Olajengbesi family.

Beyond his personal grievance, Olajengbesi called on Senator Fadahunsi to extend a broader apology to the people of Osun State, particularly Osun East, and to show empathy to families who lost loved ones during the election. He stressed that reconciliation must go hand in hand with accountability, healing, and justice.
