NUPENG NPSC Branch Holds Landmark 6th Quadrennial Delegates Conference in Abuja

The Nigeria Pipelines and Storage Company (NPSC) Limited Branch of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) successfully held its 6th Quadrennial Branch Delegates Conference on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the Dome Hall, Top Rank Hotel Galaxy, Utako, Abuja.

The event marked a significant milestone in the branch’s history and set the tone for a new era of leadership.

The high-profile gathering was graced by the Union’s Executive President, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti, alongside other distinguished leaders including Comrade Otite Onohwohwo, Acting General Secretary; Comrade Baba Usman Kaumi, National Treasurer and outgoing NPSC Branch Chairman; Comrade Abdullahi Haruna, Chairman NUPENG Kaduna Zone; Comrade Solomon Kilanko, National Ex-Officio; and Comrade Lawrence Alabala, Admin Head Kaduna Zone.

In his goodwill message, Comrade Oladiti commended the management of NNPC/NPSC for fostering a culture of mature and constructive industrial relations, which has significantly minimized the need for direct union intervention in branch-level negotiations.

The conference concluded with a peaceful and transparent election that ushered in a new 12-member executive team to steer the branch for the next four years. Comrade West Bereibibo Blessing was elected Branch Chairman, while Comrade Kamba Abubakar Mohammed emerged as Vice Chairman, and Comrade Yunana Emmanuel O. as Branch Secretary.

Other key officers include Comrade Obo Ngedo Galas as Welfare Officer and Comrade Onyebuchi Sunday Reginald as Public Relations Officer.

The new leadership faces the responsibility of navigating the rapidly evolving oil and gas industry while safeguarding workers’ rights and interests. Delegates praised the outgoing executives for their selfless service and blemish-free stewardship over the past four years.

The conference ended on a high note with renewed solidarity and commitment to the Union’s ideals.
