Prominent Nigerian journalist, publisher of Ovation International, and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Dele Momodu, has reaffirmed his deep-rooted connection to Osun State, describing himself as a “major stakeholder” in its heritage and future.

In a heartfelt message titled “I Love Osun State, I No Go Lie…”, seen by Veracity Desk, (veracitydesk.com) Momodu traced his origins to Ile-Ife, where he was born on May 16, 1960—just three days after the birth of Governor Ademola Adeleke, whom he fondly referred to as his “twin brother.” He credited Adeleke’s administration with transforming Osun into a modern city, while emphasizing that his support for the governor was based on performance rather than personal ties.

“I supported Ademola Adeleke not because he is my friend, or for pecuniary gains, but for the glaring evidence of his superlative performance. I will forever remain a major stakeholder in Osun State, regardless of whoever is Governor,” Momodu stated.

He recounted his family’s journey from Ihievbe in present-day Edo State to Ile-Ife, where his parents instilled in him values of love, prayer, and contentment. Momodu highlighted his educational journey in Ile-Ife, which spanned from primary school to a Master’s degree, describing the city as his “rock” and foundation for global recognition.

Momodu also addressed political tensions, urging restraint and reflection. “Life is not determined only by power and wealth. Remember tomorrow,” he cautioned, in a subtle appeal for humility among political leaders.

Beyond journalism and politics, Momodu’s stature is reinforced by his numerous traditional titles, including Aare of Iwo Kingdom, Basorun of Oke-Ila Orangun, Akinrogun of Gbonganland, Kiazolu of Grand Cape Mount County of Liberia, Onigege Ara of Jogaland, Ogwanusi of Imeri Kingdom, Ehanikhaye of Ihievbe Kingdom, and Onu na Ekwuru Oha 1 of Etiti.

His statement has been widely interpreted as both a personal tribute to his Osun heritage and a reaffirmation of his commitment to the state’s progress under Governor Adeleke’s leadership.
