Former lawmaker and Nollywood actor, Hon. Rotimi Makinde, has expressed grief over the passing of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

In an emotional tribute released from abroad, Makinde described Ogogo as more than a colleague, calling him a brother, a dependable friend, and a cherished companion in the Nigerian film industry.

“Ogogo was more than just a colleague in Nollywood. He was family. He was a likeable soul, a warm brother, and someone very close to me. In almost all my productions, Ogogo was there — dependable, talented, and full of life,” Makinde wrote.

He recalled their countless collaborations on screen and lamented that despite prayers and hope during Ogogo’s illness, death eventually claimed the beloved actor.

Makinde praised Ogogo’s legacy, describing him as a cultural icon whose name, Ejire, Orila Omo Kulodo, will echo in Nollywood forever.

“Your legacies, your laughter, your good deeds, and the mark you left on our screens and in our hearts shall continue to live. Rest well, my brother. Adieu Ogogo. We will never forget you,” he added.
