Chief Simon Eze, an outspoken community leader from Akpugo in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, has reaffirmed strong grassroots support for the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah in 2027, pledging to intensify awareness campaigns about the governor’s achievements across communities.
Speaking to journalists at the Lagos Airport on Saturday, Chief Eze declared that Governor Mbah has demonstrated rare leadership qualities that not only guarantee him a return to office in 2027 but also position him as a future presidential contender capable of transforming Nigeria.
According to him, Governor Mbah has “earned his pride of place among the finest leaders Nigeria has ever produced,” stressing that Nigerians should begin to look beyond 2027 and consider him for the nation’s top leadership position at the expiration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s tenure in 2031.
Chief Eze, a businessman and owner of Golden Tree Hotel/Suites and Seamark Electric Plc in Satellite Town, Lagos, extolled the Mbah administration for its unprecedented reforms, which he said have transformed Enugu into a model of modern governance.
“Governor Peter Mbah has turned Enugu State into a showroom of leadership. He has shown Nigerians that governance is not rocket science. He has built a state where poverty can be defeated, where security is guaranteed, and where young people are inspired to dream and achieve,” Eze remarked.
Reaffirming the unwavering support of the people of Akpugo, Chief Eze was emphatic that the governor’s re-election in 2027 was already sealed by his track record.
“Governor Peter Mbah’s second term in office is non-negotiable. His performance in less than four years has earned him automatic tickets across all political party platforms. Today, you can see political parties wooing him because of his uncommon performance,” he added.
Continuing, Chief Eze observed:
“History will be kind to those who stood with this administration. Their names will be recorded among those who chose progress over paralysis, development over decay, and courage over complacency. But history will be unkind to those who stood in the way of this development and progress. The will of the people, once awakened by performance, is the most unstoppable force in democracy. Ndi Enugu, having tasted purposeful governance, will not return to darkness.”
He further emphasized that Governor Mbah has not only governed but has shown that governance can be fruitful to the people.
“Consequently, he must be supported by all well-meaning Nigerians not just the good people of Akpugo to continue in office. And after 2031, our nation must begin to consider him for national duty,” Eze stated.
Chief Eze also highlighted that the governor’s policies have elevated Enugu into a destination of choice for conferences, investment, and tourism, while redefining the expectations of governance in Nigeria.
