Two-time former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Joseph Iranola Akinlaja, has joined the people of Ondo State and Nigerians at large in celebrating the 72nd birthday of former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko.
In a statement issued from his media office, the former Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and former General Secretary of NUPENG commended Dr. Mimiko’s remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s growth and development, particularly his indelible achievements during his tenure as Governor of Ondo State from 2009 to 2017.
According to Akinlaja, a seasoned labour leader and chartered arbitrator, Dr. Mimiko’s visionary leadership transformed Ondo State and left a lasting legacy.
“I congratulate my political leader and bosom friend, His Excellency Dr. Olusegun Rahman Abayomi Mimiko, on the occasion of his 72nd birthday anniversary. I owe him a life of gratitude for his kindness, values, and benevolence to the people, especially the downtrodden,” Akinlaja stated.
He further noted: “As we celebrate His Excellency, we recognize his selfless service and unwavering commitment to our great nation. His leadership and charisma have made a significant socio-economic impact on our state, and thankfully, his successors have built on these foundations for the greater good of our people.
“He is a phenomenal leader whose impact will remain indelible in the history of our state and in my personal life. I will never forget how he stood firmly by me during difficult times. He has touched countless lives within and beyond Ondo State, and history will surely be kind to him and his generations.”
Akinlaja, who represented Ondo East and West Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, prayed for continued good health, divine wisdom, and strength for the former governor as he advances in age and continues his service to Nigeria.
