Chief Simon Eze and stakeholders in Akpugo, Nkanu West Local Government Area, have reaffirmed their support for Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, declaring their commitment to his re-election bid ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial elections.
Speaking during a media chat on Saturday, Chief Eze emphasized that Governor Mbah deserves a second term, citing his achievements in deepening peace and driving development across Enugu State. He noted that the governor’s infrastructural projects, which cut across all three senatorial zones, have positioned Enugu among Nigeria’s most progressive states.
Chief Eze, owner of Golden Tree Hotel and Seamark Electric Plc in Lagos, urged residents not to waver in their support for Governor Mbah. He highlighted the governor’s “Tomorrow is Here” agenda, unveiled in May 2023, which aims to grow Enugu’s GDP from $4.4 billion to $30 billion by 2031. The plan, built on pillars of economic expansion, infrastructure development, and human capital investment, was described as proof of visionary leadership.
“Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has performed so well that his achievements speak louder than any campaign. His leadership has endeared him to the people, and Enugu has become a model of growth and development in Nigeria,” Eze said.
He added that the governor’s performance, rather than tradition, justifies his bid for a second term. Eze also called on voters to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections, stressing that stakeholders in Akpugo had already mobilized and sensitized communities to ensure victory.
“The upcoming council elections will further demonstrate APC’s strength in Enugu. We have laid the groundwork, and the people’s overwhelming support for Governor Mbah shows that winning their votes will no longer be a struggle,” he declared.
Chief Eze concluded by affirming his full commitment to the APC, noting that the party’s successes at the grassroots level would serve as a strong foundation for the 2027 general elections.
