President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to the Group Managing Director of Sahara Group, Mr. Kola Adesina, MFR, on the occasion of his birthday, commending his outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s energy sector and private-sector development over the past 25 years.
In a tribute issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Adesina as a renowned entrepreneur and energy-sector leader whose career has advanced investment, entrepreneurship, and innovation in the country.
President Tinubu particularly highlighted Adesina’s leadership roles as Chairman of Ikeja Electric and Egbin Power, alongside his stewardship at Sahara Group. He noted that Adesina’s efforts have significantly strengthened Nigeria’s energy sector while encouraging greater private-sector participation.
The President further praised Adesina’s commitment to nation-building, describing his career as a shining example of how Nigerian business leaders drive economic growth, create opportunities, and support national development.
“As you celebrate your birthday, I commend your remarkable journey in entrepreneurship and your enduring commitment to Nigeria’s economic development. Your contributions to the energy sector and the wider business community remain worthy of recognition,” President Tinubu stated.
President Tinubu wished Adesina continued good health, wisdom, and fulfillment, praying that God grants him many more years of productive service to Nigeria and humanity.
