The Coalition of Sokoto Youth and Students Organisations has urged the national leadership of the City Boy Movement to review and restructure its Sokoto State chapter, calling for the replacement of the current State Coordinator/Director.
Representing diverse youth and student stakeholders across Sokoto State, the coalition emphasized that its demand is driven by the need for a more inclusive and effective leadership framework.
According to the group, such a structure is essential to engage young people, students, and grassroots stakeholders across all 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
In a statement signed by its representative, Comrade Mailafiya Daniyalu, the coalition urged the national leadership of the movement to conduct a comprehensive review of the activities and leadership structure of the Sokoto chapter.
It also called for wider consultations with recognised youth, student and grassroots organisations before any decision on the leadership of the chapter is taken.
According to the coalition, the movement requires an accessible and experienced youth-focused leader capable of bringing stakeholders together and strengthening grassroots mobilisation.
It further called for greater participation of students, young professionals and grassroots youth organisations in the affairs of the movement.
The coalition also advocated the establishment of an inclusive state executive structure based on competence, commitment and broad stakeholder acceptance.
It said the call was made in good faith and was intended to strengthen the City Boy Movement rather than create division within its ranks.

The group expressed the belief that a stronger and more inclusive City Boy Movement would be better positioned to contribute to youth development, grassroots mobilisation and community engagement in Sokoto State.
It therefore urged the national leadership to give the appeal serious and urgent consideration, saying such action would be in the interest of youths and students in the state as well as the continued development of the movement.
