Stakeholders drawn from ethnic, religious, traditional, and academic groups have urged voters in Akpugo, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, as well as citizens across the state, to avoid sentiments and refrain from supporting individuals with untested leadership records in the 2027 governorship election.

Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has been described as deserving a second term in office, having fulfilled his campaign promises of advancing development across Enugu State.

The stakeholders made this assertion in a statement issued by one of their leading voices, Chief Simon Eze — a Lagos-based entrepreneur and proprietor of Seamark Electric Plc and Golden Tree Hotel in Satellite Town (Oriade LCDA).

“We call on the good people of Enugu State, not only those of us from Akpugo in Nkanu West LGA, to turn out in large numbers and support the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate and incumbent Governor, His Excellency Barrister Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. His re-election will signify continuity and consolidation of progress,” the statement read.

Eze continued, “This perfect gentleman and quintessential leader deserves a second term as Governor for his striking and enviable achievements in the administration and development of the state.

“Peter Mbah’s administration is an inclusive one and over the years, APC has been magnanimous towards all tribes within the state. It is safer to go with the benevolent APC with a convincing pedigree rather than risk the unknown.

“We urge the good people of Enugu State to vote for progress, continuity, consolidation and sustainability,” Eze said.

He further urged every tribe in the state to avoid comments capable of creating disunity in the state and to reciprocate the accommodative disposition of Enugu.

He stressed that despite the mounting security challenges in Nigeria and around the world, Governor Mbah has excelled in making Enugu State safe “through political will, investment in technology, and logistical support to security agencies in the state.

“As the march to the next general election begins to gather steam, there is no doubt that Governor Mbah’s quiet governance and political revolution going on in Enugu State have endeared him to Ndi Enugu.

“Having identified Mbah’s reputation as a quiet achiever, who puts competence above politics and clannishness in his team selection”, Chief Eze established the fact that those virtues are what Enugu people look for in their leaders.

“What is more, if elections were held today, Governor Peter Mbah’s achievements in office in the last 3 years have already earned him a second term mandate,” Eze disclosed.
