President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday administered the oath of office to newly appointed Federal Commissioners of two key national institutions — the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and the National Population Commission (NPC).
The ceremony, which took place at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja, preceded the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the President.Two commissioners of the RMAFC and six commissioners of the NPC were sworn in, following their recent confirmation by the National Assembly.
The appointments are expected to strengthen the operational capacity of both commissions in delivering on their constitutional mandates.The RMAFC plays a pivotal role in monitoring revenue accruals and ensuring equitable allocation among the three tiers of government, while the NPC is responsible for producing reliable demographic data critical for national planning across the country.
The newly inaugurated RMAFC commissioners are: Amina Ibrahim Gamawa, representing Bauchi State, and Abdullahi Mukhtar, representing Kaduna State.
They took their Oaths of Office in a single batch, formally assuming their responsibilities as members of the constitutionally established fiscal commission. President Tinubu also administered the Oath of Office to six newly appointed Federal Commissioners of the National Population Commission.

They are: Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi (Ekiti), Nasiru Mu’azu (Zamfara), Dr. Isaka Alada Yahaya (Kwara), Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda (Katsina), Suleiman Umar (Jigawa), and Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo (Sokoto).
During the FEC meeting, ministers considered memoranda on key government policies and programmes.
Top government officials at the swearing-in ceremony included Vice President Kashim Shettima; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume; the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack; ministers and other aides of the President.
