The spokesperson of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Imole Campaign Organisation re-election team, Pelumi Olajengbesi, Pelumi Olajengbesi has raised alarm over what he described as an alleged plot to arrest him in Osun State, linking the move to former governor and current minister, Gboyega Oyetola.

In a statement issued from Ijebu Jesa, Oriade Local Government, the human rights lawyer claimed he was advised by senior police contacts to leave the state immediately, following instructions purportedly given by Oyetola to the Inspector General of Police to “find a reason” to arrest him before Sunday morning.

Olajengbesi accused Oyetola of abusing political power, warning that such intimidation tactics would not silence the people of Osun. He recalled that Oyetola was voted out of office in 2022 due to what he termed “gross incompetence,” adding that the people would resist any attempt to impose him or his allies again.

“Those who know him should remind him that power is temporary. Many who once believed their influence would last forever are today either forgotten or in jail,” Olajengbesi said.

He further stressed that no amount of harassment could erase the will of the people, insisting that Osun residents had spoken before and would speak again through the ballot.

The lawyer maintained that he remained in Osun despite the alleged threats, reiterating his commitment to stand with the people against oppression.
