Oyo State gubernatorial hopeful, Dr. Gbenga Adegbola has literally kicked off his political engagements with some notable traditional rulers in Oyo State, being part of his efforts to create awareness about his ambition, build relationships and foster symbiotic accord with relevant and reputable stakeholders ahead of 2027 election in the State.

Dr. Adegbola who was in company of his aides and leaders of his campaign team during the courtesy visits, spoke in separate remarks to formally declare his intention to run for the governorship of Oyo State and as well sought royal blessings and support for his political ambition.

He stressed that lasting partnerships with royal fathers across the state was key and very significant for him at a time like this.

The governorship hopeful in these recent visits received warmth and royal welcome at the palaces of His Royal Majesty, Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Iyiola Olayemi Gbadewolu I, the Amorin of Akinmorin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sakiru Oyewole Adekola Oyelere Ajani-Edu II, Agbadewolu I, the Onifiditi of Fiditi and His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdrasheed Adeniyi Owoade Adetunji Oyerinade, the Oniware of Iwareland.

During the high profile meetings, Dr. Adegbola emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and traditional rulers in addressing the state’s priority needs. He also thanked the monarchs for receiving him, describing them as great leaders with good conscience.

He further expressed his commitment to fulfilling his promises and appealed for prayers and support from the monarchs, their subjects as well as the entire citizens of the state to ensure and deepen progress and stability at the grassroots and ultimately make his ambition a reality.

The astute politician also added that he would soon make more visits to other eminent monarchs in the state and other critical stakeholders to widen his political support base and attract mutual boost for his governorship ambition and campaigns.

Meanwhile, the Kabiyesis, in separate statements in their respective palaces, commended Dr. Adegbola for his leadership, philantropic gestures, love and support for the vulnerable segments of the society. The monarchs also acknowledged him as an instrument of God, set out selflessly to adding values to people’s lives with no recourse to pecuniary gains. The traditional rulers profusely offered prayers for the gubernatorial hopeful, praying for guidance and good health, while also urging the people of the state to throw their weights behind him.

Oba Owoade, the Alaafin of Oyo on his part recalled his deep ties to Saki, which he described as his second home, having lived there for over a decade. He expressed his goodwill towards Dr. Adegbola’s political journey and offered fervent prayers for the success of his movement. Dr. Adegbola equally used the atmosphere to formally congratulate the highly revered monarch on his accession to the coveted and ancestral throne of his forefathers.

Similarly, HRM Oba Gbadewolu offered profound prayers for Dr. Adegbola’s success, invoking divine guidance and protection on his political journey. The monarch also extended royal blessings to his august visitor, emphasizing the importance of humility, service to the people and other virtues seen in Dr. Adegbola.

Oba Oyelere in his own remarks commended Dr. Adegbola for his thoughtful visit and his commitment to engaging with grassroots leaders. The monarch also used the occasion to call for peace, unity, and issue-based politics as the 2027 elections approach.

Dr. Adegbola equally received encomiums and royal blessings from the Oniware of Iwareland, Oba Abdrasheed Adeniyi Owoade Adetunji Oyerinade, the monarch used the auspicious visit to commend the gubernatorial hopeful’s bold step while also describing his movement as a welcome development for the people of Oyo State. He as well offered heartfelt prayers for Adegbola’s success in his political journey, praying for divine guidance, protection, spiritual guidance and wisdom.

Oyo is a critical state in the Nigeria’s political affairs, therefore it is important to bequeath its political leadership structures in the hands of someone with good pedigree, discipline and integrity who has the interest of the people in his heart like Dr Gbenga Adegbola.

It is my appeal to all Oyo State indigenes, irrespective of ethnicity, religious and political affiliations to rally supports for this retired Army Colonel with with outstanding achievements and high moral rectitude as the only and best man for 2027 gubernatorial election in Oyo State.

Here is a man who is ready to tackle insecurity and deliver a robust economy. A man who is ready to guarantee quality education, health, food security, rule of law, infrastructure, youth and women inclusiveness in governance and agriculture revolution to mention a few.
