In his recent post on Facebook showing his meeting with Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State Showunmi noted that feelings of others and keeping promises are essential qualities for leaders who want to foster loyalty, respect, and collaboration
It is recalled that on Thursday, March 20, 2025 the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election; former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and others have formed a coalition that will wrestle power from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

“Engagement with Mallam Nasir Elrufai
“Leaders must cultivate the habit of listening to people and hearing them! It helps to get an understanding of their position which helps in building consensus and cooperation.
“Leaders must be sensitive to the feelings of partners and keeping one’s promise is always a good sign. Nobody likes to be used and dumped.
“There is always a way to close the gap for we must build our country together. We do not have the luxury of bickering when the future needs all hands on deck.
“The Alternative seeks a re-engagement with all stakeholders.
“The world cannot be in the fourth industrial revolution which is fast paced and Nigeria will playing politics of exclusion, especially of its brilliant minds.
“Time spent with Mal Nasir Elrufai was truly engaging and honest. Thank you for inviting me.”
