Oriade LCDA Boss, Olojede Performs Symbolic Sanitation Exercise, Commends Residents’ Compliance, As He Seeks More Stakeholders Participation In Public Health & Safety

Known for his humility and exemplary character, the executive Chairman of Oriade LCDA, Hon. Rasaq Akorede Olojede, on Saturday April 25, 2026 actively participated in the symbolic environmental sanitation exercise in his constituency.

In a distinct display of leadership by example, the Oriade LCDA boss used the occasion to appeal to the residents to activate their civic responsibility by complying with the reintroduced monthly environmental sanitation exercise by the Lagos State Government.

Since he took oath of office as the executive Chairman of Oriade LCDA, this is the first sanitation exercise he would be overseeing.

He equally took time to highlight the need for shared responsibility for safeguarding community health and safety amongst local dwellers while also calling on residents, property owners, and stakeholders to embrace environmental cleanliness as a renewed culture for the wellbeing of Oriade LCDA and it’s environs.

The Chairman said it became highly important for residents to clean their premises, drains, gutters, and frontages and to bag refuse for placement at designated collection points for evacuation while environmental health officers and enforcement teams are also expected not to rest on their oars in monitoring compliance across the LCDA in record time.

Olojede said the exercise was a public health intervention aimed to prevent hazards and curb communicable diseases within the community.

According to him, a cleaner Oriade LCDA is a healthier Oriade; hence, residents should take ownership of their surroundings.

The council chairman, however, gave commendation to all relevant agencies in ensuring successful implementation in sustainning a hygienic, flood-free environment.

He as well expressed satisfaction for the substantial compliance by the residents who keyed in to the exercise which commenced between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., with restrictions on vehicular and pedestrian movement.

The council head however tasked the good people of the LCDA to troop out in their larger numbers in the subsequent months to achieve and sustain excellent public health and safety.
