The Oba of Igbobi-Sabe, His Royal Majesty, Oba Owolabi Adeyemi Adeshina Adeniyi (Maforunyomi I), has added his voice to the call for the expansion and increased publicity of the Lagos State College of Health Technology (LASCOHET), Yaba.
The revered Monarch made this appeal during a courtesy visit by the Provost of LASCOHET, Professor Raheem Akewushola, and members of the Institution’s Management team, recently to his palace.
During the visit, Oba Igbobi-Sabe emphasised the need for LASCOHET to address its space constraints and explore the establishment of external campuses to accommodate its growing academic activities.
He noted that the College, being one of the oldest Health institutions in the country, must enhance its visibility and ensure that more people are aware of its contributions to Healthcare Education in Lagos State and beyond.
In his charge to the Management team, Oba Igbobi-Sabe urged them to conduct a feasibility study to identify available land for the college’s future expansion.
He assured the Institution of his continuous support, reaffirming his commitment to LASCOHET’s growth and development.
Responding, the Provost, Professor Akewushola, appreciated the Monarch’s fatherly advice and acknowledged that space is a critical factor in securing accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
He affirmed that LASCOHET is due for an external campus and assured that steps would be taken to explore viable options for expansion.
