In a decisive effort to strengthen collaboration between organized labor and national institutions, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti, the National Executive President of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, led a distinguished delegation of downstream sector stakeholders on a landmark courtesy visit to the National Security Adviser, Mr. Nuhu Ribadu, at his office in the Three Arms Zone, Abuja.
The high-powered delegation underscored NUPENG’s commitment to fostering constructive engagement with key government agencies, particularly in addressing issues of national security, energy stability, and industrial harmony. The visit was aimed at deepening mutual understanding, strengthening institutional ties, and charting pathways for sustainable collaboration between the union and the Office of the National Security Adviser.
Comrade Oladiti’s leadership in convening this strategic dialogue reflects his resolve to reposition NUPENG as a proactive partner in national development, while ensuring that the interests of workers and stakeholders in the petroleum and natural gas sector remain safeguarded.
In his remarks, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti, President of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), conveyed deep appreciation to the National Security Adviser, Mr. Nuhu Ribadu, for his unwavering support before, during, and after the 6th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference held in April 2026, a pivotal event that paved the way for his emergence as National Executive President.
He acknowledged the NSA’s consistent backing as instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition of leadership and strengthening the union’s resolve to pursue its mandate with renewed vigor.
Reaffirming NUPENG’s dedication to national service, Comrade Oladiti emphasized the union’s steadfast commitment, in collaboration with other industry stakeholders, to guaranteeing uninterrupted distribution of petroleum products across the country. He underscored that this pledge is central to reinforcing energy security, sustaining industrial harmony, and safeguarding national stability.
