The Group Chief Executive Officer of McEnies Global Communications, Dr. Omolaraeni Olaosebikan, has dismissed fears that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will completely replace human beings, insisting that the future belongs to a powerful collaboration between human ingenuity and technological intelligence.

Drawing from more than two decades of distinguished experience in integrated marketing communications, public relations, brand management and event strategy, the communications expert argued that AI should be viewed as a strategic partner rather than a threat to human relevance.

At a policy dialogue held at a prominent hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, she emphasized that although artificial intelligence is transforming workplaces through enhanced efficiency, task automation, and faster decision-making, it remains incapable of matching the uniquely human qualities of emotional intelligence, ethical reasoning, creativity, intuition, and the capacity to build meaningful relationships.

“Artificial Intelligence can process data faster than humans, but it cannot replicate the depth of human experience, emotional intelligence, intuition, empathy, cultural understanding and ethical judgment that drive meaningful decisions and innovation,” she said.

Dr. Olaosebikan maintained that the rise of AI should serve as a wake-up call for professionals and entrepreneurs to elevate their skills rather than succumb to fear or complacency.

“The future is not about humans versus artificial intelligence. It is about humans and artificial intelligence working together. Those who continuously learn, adapt and innovate will remain indispensable regardless of technological advancement,” she stated.

Why Humans Remain Irreplaceable

The marketing communications executive noted that history has consistently shown that technological revolutions create new opportunities even as they disrupt existing systems.

She explained that while machines can automate repetitive processes, they cannot fully comprehend human emotions, build trust-based relationships, negotiate complex social dynamics or exercise nuanced judgment in sensitive situations.

According to her, sectors such as communications, leadership, entrepreneurship, governance, healthcare, education and the creative industry still depend heavily on human insight and contextual understanding.

“Technology can enhance productivity, but only human beings can inspire, persuade, mentor, lead and envision possibilities beyond existing data,” she added.

Industry observers note that one of AI’s major limitations is that it operates largely on existing information and patterns, whereas human beings possess the unique ability to imagine entirely new realities, challenge conventional thinking and develop groundbreaking solutions to complex problems.

A Call Against Professional Complacency
Dr. Olaosebikan urged professionals across all industries to embrace continuous self-development through education, certifications, research and skills acquisition.

She warned that complacency, rather than AI, poses the greatest risk to career growth and business sustainability in the digital age.
“People must continue to study more, read more, invest in certifications, conduct research and remain intellectually curious. The moment you become comfortable with yesterday’s knowledge, you begin to lose relevance in tomorrow’s economy,” she said.

She emphasized that modern professionals must be willing to leave their comfort zones, embrace lifelong learning and develop multidimensional competencies capable of complementing emerging technologies.

According to her, success in the AI era will increasingly depend on the ability of individuals to combine technical competence with creativity, strategic thinking and innovation.

Building on Two Decades of Excellence
Dr. Olaosebikan’s position is rooted in a professional journey spanning more than 20 years during which she has successfully led campaigns, managed corporate reputations, developed brands and delivered strategic communication solutions across multiple sectors.

Under her leadership, McEnies Global Communications has built a reputation for excellence, precision, client satisfaction and innovative service delivery, earning sustained referrals and repeat business from clients.

Experts argue that such enduring success demonstrates one reality that technology alone cannot achieve: trust.

While AI can generate content, analyze trends and automate workflows, long-term client relationships continue to be built on credibility, accountability, emotional connection and strategic counsel, qualities that remain fundamentally human.

The Future Is Collaboration, Not Competition
Dr. Olaosebikan argued that organizations that thrive in the coming decades will not be those that choose between human talent and AI, but those that successfully integrate both.

She said AI can handle speed, scale and automation, while human professionals provide vision, leadership, critical thinking and innovation.

“Artificial Intelligence is a powerful tool, but it remains a tool. Human beings are the creators, innovators and decision-makers who determine how that tool is applied. The future belongs to those who can harness technology while continuing to unlock opportunities, solve problems and make the impossible possible through creativity and discernment,” she said.

As conversations around AI intensify globally, her message offers a reassuring perspective: technology may transform the way people work, but human imagination, adaptability and purpose will continue to define the future.
“AI will evolve. Human potential must evolve faster,” she concluded. “When both work together, the possibilities become limitless.”
