Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reaffirmed his loyalty to the ruling party, firmly dismissing reports suggesting his defection to the New Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a strong rebuttal, the former Kano State Governor described himself as neither a “nomadic politician” nor a “vulture flying from one tree to another” in pursuit of personal ambition or political convenience. He stressed that his political journey remains anchored in consistency and commitment to the APC’s vision.

The clarification came in response to posters circulating on social media alleging his defection. Ganduje denounced the materials as false, mischievous, and politically motivated.

In a statement issued on Friday by his former Commissioner for Information and Chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, Ganduje characterized the posters as a calculated campaign of misinformation deliberately designed to mislead the public, sow confusion among APC members, and fuel unnecessary political speculation.

By firmly rejecting the claims, Ganduje sought to reassure party faithful of his continued dedication to the APC, while condemning attempts to destabilize the political landscape through fabricated narratives.

According to the statement, Ganduje has remained consistent in his political convictions and has never contemplated leaving the APC, a party he served as National Chairman.

“It is not only false but also illogical for anyone to insinuate that Ganduje has joined the NDC; such a claim lacks both political and logical foundation,” the statement said.

Ganduje maintained that the APC remains Nigeria’s largest and most formidable political party, enjoying growing acceptance across the country and consolidating its position under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

The statement described the circulation of the posters as the handiwork of desperate political mischief-makers determined to tarnish Ganduje’s reputation and create unnecessary anxiety within the ruling party.

Ganduje further disclosed that those responsible for producing and circulating the fake posters had been identified, warning that unless they immediately withdrew the defamatory materials and ceased further dissemination, appropriate legal action would be taken against them.

He called on APC members, supporters and the general public to disregard the posters in their entirety, insisting that they do not reflect Ganduje’s political position or intentions.

The statement underscored Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s unwavering commitment to working closely with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consolidate the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda. It emphasized his resolve to further strengthen the party’s structures and unity in preparation for future political engagements.

In addition, the statement urged members of the public and party faithful to rely exclusively on official communications issued by Ganduje or the recognized organs of the APC regarding his political activities. This, it noted, is essential to counter misinformation, maintain clarity, and safeguard the integrity of the party’s internal processes.
