Fidelity Bank Plc has announced the promotion of 433 employees in its 2026 Promotion and Notch Award Exercise, underscoring the institution’s commitment to rewarding performance and nurturing a high-performance culture.
This year’s exercise benefited approximately 13 per cent of the Bank’s workforce, marking a steady rise from 12 per cent in 2025 and 11 per cent in 2024, when 376 and 337 employees were promoted, respectively.
Since assuming office, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, has institutionalized annual promotion exercises designed to recognize employee contributions, strengthen organizational capacity, and build a robust leadership pipeline.
Beyond promotions, Fidelity Bank continues to invest in employee welfare through initiatives that enhance productivity, workplace satisfaction, and overall wellbeing. The Bank has implemented salary increases across all categories in 2022, 2024, and 2025, deployed staff buses to ease commuting, expanded medical support, and scaled up learning and development programs.
In addition, Fidelity Bank extended its mortgage loan and home ownership scheme to employees from Assistant Banking Executive to Deputy Manager cadres, while raising mortgage limits in line with market realities. This positions the Bank among the few institutions offering mortgage support to staff below managerial level.
The Bank has also sustained initiatives that promote employee engagement, collaboration, work-life balance, professional certification, and continuous upskilling — reinforcing its reputation as a great place to work and a preferred employer in Nigeria’s financial services industry.
Industry analysts note that these investments have strengthened Fidelity Bank’s broader people strategy: attracting, developing, rewarding, and retaining top talent while preparing employees for greater responsibilities.
Ranked among Nigeria’s leading banks, Fidelity Bank Plc serves over 10 million customers through digital channels, 255 business offices nationwide, and its UK subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited. The Bank has earned multiple local and international awards, including the 2025 Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) Innovation Award for MSME support, Best Retail and SME Bank from Independent Newspapers, and Nigeria’s Best Private Bank at the 2025 Euromoney Awards.
