A prominent entrepreneur, respected community leader, and influential grassroots mobilizer from Akpugo in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Simon Eze, has declared that Governor Peter Mbah deserves a second term in office, citing what he described as the governor’s remarkable achievements in infrastructure development, economic growth, and the promotion of peace and stability across the state.
Speaking during an interactive session with media executives, Chief Eze commended Governor Mbah for what he termed a transformational style of leadership that has positively impacted communities across the three senatorial zones of Enugu State.
According to him, the governor’s ambitious infrastructure drive, which cuts across transportation, education, healthcare, security, and rural development, has elevated Enugu’s standing among Nigeria’s leading states in terms of development and governance.
He noted that the visible progress recorded under the current administration has earned the governor widespread acceptance among the people, adding that residents of the state are already looking forward to supporting his re-election bid in 2027.
Chief Eze further stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has performed so impressively under Governor Mbah’s leadership that it enjoys strong grassroots support across the state.
“APC under Governor Peter Mbah in Enugu State has performed to the point that we do not need to campaign excessively to earn the people’s votes. The developmental projects are there for everyone to see. What we are doing now through grassroots mobilization and door-to-door engagement is simply to deepen awareness and ensure that every voter appreciates the progress that has been made,” he said.
The Akpugo stakeholder emphasized that Governor Mbah’s quest for a second term should be viewed through the lens of performance rather than the traditional expectation that governors ordinarily seek two terms in office.
According to him, the governor has demonstrated uncommon commitment to inclusive governance, economic transformation, and the welfare of the people, making him worthy of another mandate to consolidate on the gains already achieved.
“Governor Peter Mbah deserves a second term not because it is customary for incumbents to seek re-election, but because he has delivered tangible results. His administration has laid a solid foundation for sustainable growth, improved infrastructure, enhanced security, and economic opportunities for our people. The people of Enugu State can see the difference and will undoubtedly support him to continue the good work,” Eze stated.
Chief Eze also extended his endorsement to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging Nigerians to support the President’s re-election bid and the candidature of other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
He expressed confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration, noting that ongoing economic reforms and strategic development initiatives would ultimately yield lasting benefits for the country.
According to him, the APC remains the most viable political platform for advancing national development and sustaining the momentum of governance at both the federal and state levels.
“As far as we are concerned, Nigerians should rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Mbah, and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections. Their leadership has provided direction and hope at a critical period in our nation’s history. We believe they remain the best options for continuing the development and progress that Nigerians desire,” he added.
Chief Eze concluded by calling on eligible voters, community leaders, youth groups, women organizations, and other stakeholders to remain actively involved in the democratic process and support leaders who have demonstrated capacity, competence, and commitment to delivering meaningful development for the people.
