Bakare will be celebrated with a week of memorable activities beginning on Sunday, November 10.
A statement by Team Lead, Media and Publicity Sub-Committee for CGGC, Kayode Ladeinde, said the events will be held for a week.
The statement said: “Pastor Tunde Bakare, fondly called PTB, has been one of the nation’s most highly influential and respected spiritual leaders, a fiery and passionate preacher of righteousness, and a courageous advocate for justice. This leader, whose powerful messages and life of service have inspired millions globally, has not only impacted his immediate constituency, the church but has also made significant socio-political contributions by speaking truth to power.
“His interventions on the state of the nation have earned him respect and recognition. In addition to his prophetic role, he was the running mate of former President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2011 presidential election in Nigeria with an unwavering commitment to national leadership, and he remains deeply interested in serving his country toward a brighter future. His teachings emphasize moral integrity, justice, and the need for spiritual renewal in society.
“The one-week celebration of his 70th birthday will feature the following events: Sunday, November 10: Appreciation Sunday by Affinity Groups in CGCC. Monday, November 11: Birthday Thanksgiving Service & Book Presentation. Tuesday, November 12: Law Endowment Fund & Solar Project Commissioning in UNILAG – ‘Let There Be Light’. Wednesday, November 13: Wellness and Health Talk: ‘A formula for a sickness-free life’, by Dr Susana Adams. Friday, November 15: Inaugural Lecture by The Citadel Centre for Development, TCCD. Sunday, November 17: Thanksgiving Service @ CGCC. The week-long celebration will culminate in a final thanksgiving service, offering gratitude for 70 years of impactful leadership and prophetic-apostolic ministry.
