Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and Life Bencher, Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, has issued a heartfelt note of gratitude following the conclusion of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) elections, thanking colleagues, supporters, and volunteers across the country for their dedication and resilience throughout the campaign.
In his message received by Veracity Desk (veracitydesk,com) on Wednesday, Akinboro acknowledged the challenges faced by many lawyers during the electoral process, including repeated technical difficulties, but praised their determination to exercise their democratic rights. “Your resilience speaks volumes about your love for the Nigerian Bar Association,” he said.
He emphasized that the campaign was not merely about winning an election but about inspiring confidence in a stronger, more inclusive, and more courageous Bar. Over the past months, Akinboro visited branches nationwide, engaging with colleagues and learning from their experiences. He described these encounters as “one of the greatest rewards of this journey.”
Despite the election outcome, Akinboro reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals that brought his movement together, stressing that the welfare of lawyers, the independence of the Bar, and the promotion of excellence remain central to his vision. “Public service has never been defined, for me, by holding office alone. It has always been defined by service itself,” he noted.
He extended special appreciation to his campaign council, coordinators, media strategists, volunteers, and his family, whose sacrifices sustained him throughout the demanding process. He also expressed gratitude to distinguished leaders, past NBA presidents, and young lawyers who placed their confidence in him.
Above all, Akinboro urged young practitioners to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence and integrity, assuring them that their voices matter in shaping the future of the profession.
“The collective aspiration for a stronger, fairer, and more united Nigerian Bar Association did not begin with this election, and it does not end here,” he declared, pledging to continue serving the legal profession with conviction and courage.
He concluded with prayers for the NBA, its members, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
