A commercial bus driver, identified as Ibrahim, slumped and died on Tuesday evening near Apete Garage in Ido Local Government Area, while conveying passengers in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
Sources disclosed that the driver, who operated along the Apete-Sango route, crossed the Apete Bridge with a bus full of passengers and was returning from Sango when the incident occurred around 6:30pm.
It was learnt that his bus suddenly stopped moving and he alighted to check the fault. However, while trying to check the fault, he slumped suddenly and died before he could be rushed to the hospital.
The cause of the driver’s death has not been ascertained as at the time of filing this report yesterday. When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, said that the case has not been reported to the police.
