Prince Williams Akporeha, immediate past President of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and National Coordinator of Working People United, has expressed confidence that the newly constituted 108-member All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, led by Senator Abdulaziz Yari, will deliver victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming January 16, 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Akporeha described Yari — former Governor of Zamfara State and current senator — as a “tested and trusted political leader” whose appointment as Director-General of the campaign council reflects the confidence of the party in his ability to lead a nationwide campaign.
“Senator Abdulaziz Yari is a tested political leader with considerable experience in governance, party organisation, and grassroots mobilisation. His appointment is a clear demonstration of the confidence reposed in his capacity to lead a campaign of national significance. We are confident that he will bring discipline, strategic coordination, and the necessary political experience to the assignment while ensuring that the campaign effectively reaches Nigerians across all regions and sectors,” Akporeha stated.
