Edo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua, has launched a scathing attack on opposition presidential candidates, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Mr. Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

In statement received by Veracity Desk, (https://veracitydesk.com.com) Afegbua ridiculed the duo for “chasing shadows” in the United States instead of engaging with Nigerians at home, insisting their campaign efforts are misguided and disconnected from reality.

Meanwhile, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ignited its nationwide campaign today, August 19, 2026 with a dramatic flag-off across multiple states. The Door-to-Door Movement took center stage, with live coverage saturating electronic media platforms.

Afegbua declared that the simultaneous rallies prove APC’s superior strategy, stamina, and structure, contrasting sharply with what he described as the “beleaguered ADC” and “non-starter NDC.”

“There is no shortcut to Aso Villa. You need to work, and sweat it out. APC understands the nature of presidential campaigns, hence the simultaneous nation-wide campaigns. Give it to President Tinubu. Give it to APC. Give it to continuity,” Afegbua asserted.

The Commissioner warned that critics will inevitably cry foul and allege rigging once President Tinubu secures re-election, but emphasized that APC’s ground game leaves little room for doubt about its preparedness.
