Ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Munirudeen Oyebamiji (AMBO), has cautioned against vote buying and other forms of electoral inducement.
Addressing members of the Ansar-U-Deen congregation in Osogbo, the state capital, AMBO emphasized the importance of credible, issue-based participation in the forthcoming governorship poll, underscoring that integrity in the electoral process is vital for the state’s democratic progress.
According to him, “The PVC is a document that confers right on each person to have a say in deciding who leads or preside over their affairs for stipulated period. I am appealing to our people not to commercialise their PVC but use it wisely to vote for someone that has capacity and potential to lead appropriately.
“I am assuring you all that once you vote for me, we will immediately return the state to the path of growth and development. It is in our manifesto the way we will lead you and the state to enviable heights among comity of states in the federation.”
He urged the congregation, especially religious leaders to continue to pray for peace and talk to their followers to allow peace reign before and after the election in the State.
“Our people, including politicians should be pleased allow peace, so that our people can throng to the polling units to vote for the progress and development of Osun State,” he added.
AMBO extolled the leadership and members of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria for their continued prayers and bold step taken to support him, promising to run all inclusive, participatory and masses-oriented government when elected governor.
Subsequently, the leadership and members of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADS), unanimously declared support for his candidature and assured him of victory in the forthcoming poll.
Speaking on behalf of the leadership, the State Secretary, Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Akande Hafiz, said “As one united family, we will support him with our sincere prayers for divine wisdom, protection and success and we pray the Almighty Allah grant him the wisdom to lead, the strength to serve and absolute sincerity in all that he does.”
