BREAKING: History Made As NUPENG Elects Otunba Oladiti As President

The former National Trustee of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Otunba Salimon Oladiti, has been elected as the new President of the Union.

Otunba Oladiti who once hold sway as national Chairman of Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) Branch of NUPENG was elected at the 6th Quadrennial Delegates Conference of the Union on Friday in Lagos.

Similarly, the former Chairman of the Oil and Gas Supply (OGS) Branch of the Union, Comrade Akin Oladejo, was elected Deputy President.

Oladiti’s emergence would mark a historic milestone for the union, as it would be the first time a member of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) branch would ascend to the presidency of NUPENG.

His predecessor, Comrade Williams Eniredonana Akporeha who served the Union for two terms after congratulating Oladiti urged members and staff of the Union to give him (Oladiti) full support as he assumed the new leadership role on Friday, April 24, 2026 in Lagos.

In attendance were several high profile guests including former Presidents, former General Secretaries and for deputy General Secretaries of the Union.
