The executive Chairman of Oriade LCDA in Lagos State, Hon. Rasaq Akorede Olojede has commended the successful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 8th National Convention which was attended by over 8,000 delegates and described as peaceful, transparent and credible.
The event, held at the famous Eagle Square in Abuja witnessed a massive turnout by party faithful and stakeholders from across Nigeria including the President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the Vice President Kassim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio amongst other dignitaries.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the convention, Olojede expressed satisfaction with the organization of the event, praising the peaceful atmosphere that characterized the exercise which according to him set benchmark for internal democracy and organizational strength.
He noted that the success of the congress reflects unity and the growing success of APC in the country. He further expressed his joy and reaffirmed his strong support and solidarity with the leadership and elders of the party in Oriade LCDA, Lagos State especially Governor Babajide Sanwoolu and other stalwarts who are unrepentant in offering their best for the party.
He equally congratulated the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, on his re-election at the party’s 8th National Convention. He also extended his congratulations to other newly elected members of the National Working Committee (NWC), including Ali Dalori, Benjamin Nwoye, Ajibola Basiru, and AbdulKarim Kana.
The Chairman praised the conduct of the convention, noting that it demonstrated the party’s unity and democratic strength. He described Professor Yilwatda’s emergence as a reflection of his effective leadership since assuming office in July 2025.
Hon. Olojede further expressed optimism that the newly constituted NWC would lead the party to greater achievements, particularly as preparations begin for the 2027 general elections. He added that the transparent process that produced the party’s leadership reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to democracy, good governance, inclusivity and nondiscrimination.
