It was a great honour for me yesterday the 3rd of February, 2026 to be part of the historic 50 years celebration of the creation of our dear state, Ogun.
It was a gathering of distinguished sons and daughters of Ogun State as I joined our leader, the governor of Ogun State H.E. Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun CON and other eminent personalities from our state to celebrate the occasion which was celebrated in grand style.
Ogun State known as the Gateway state was created fifty years ago and has since produced eminent individuals that have contributed immensely to the growth and development of our dear nation, Nigeria at different levels of leadership including the positions of former Head of State, former Head of Interim National Government, former President, former Vice President among other notable positions that Ogun State indigenes have occupied and thus, proven themselves of worthy ambassadors. Nigeria success story is incomplete without Ogun State.
At a milestone celebration of 50 years, Ogun State has continued to play a major and significant role in the socio-economic development of Nigeria as the “Ise Ya” mantra that the state is known for has continued to reflect in the contribution of the state to our overall national Gross Domestic Products GDP. This is due to the industrialization drive of both the past and present governments in the state which have also spurred the internally generated revenue of the state to an enviable status among other sub-nationals.
I use the opportunity of this anniversary to wish all sons and daughters of our dear state a happy golden jubilee as we look forward to a better and brighter fifty years ahead of us.
