As Nigeria prepares to mark its 66th Independence Anniversary, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver a nationwide broadcast on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 7 a.m.
The President’s speech is expected to reflect on the nation’s journey since independence in 1960, highlight current challenges, and outline his administration’s vision for the future.
All television and radio stations, along with other electronic media platforms, have been directed to join the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) network services to ensure the broadcast reaches citizens across the country.
The announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, underscoring the importance of the moment as Nigerians unite to celebrate more than six decades of sovereignty.
