UNILAG Aumni Association Honours Kola Adesina, CJN, Olanipekun, Others
The University of Lagos Alumni Association on Friday, October 17, 2025, honoured the Managing Director of Sahara Group, Dr Kola Adesina with a prestigious award.
The recognition highlighted Dr. Adesina’s visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to excellence, and significant contributions to national development and capacity building across various sector.
The auspicious event held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The Ogbeni-Oja of Ijebuland, Olor’ogun Dr. Sonny Folorunso Kuku—himself a recipient, served as Chairman of the occasion.
The event marked the grand 55th Anniversary Awards and Recognition Dinner organized by the UNILAG Alumni Association, A number of distinguished Nigerians and alumni who have made notable contributions to the development of the university and the nation at large were also recognised.
Among those who were honoured apart from Dr. Adesina included Senate Majority Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Esther Didi Wilson-Jack; Chief Bayo Ojo (SAN); , the Asagba of Asaba, HRM (Prof.) Epiphany Azinge; and Chief (Mrs.) Folasade Okoya.
The UNILAG Alumni President Worldwide and Chief Host of the event, IfeOluwa Oyedele, described the anniversary as a landmark celebration of excellence, camaraderie, and impactful contributions.
