The Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Rasaq Akorede Olojede on Wednesday November 19, 2025 marked his first 100 days in office while also announcing the completion of major infrastructure and community development projects focused on healthcare, education, and public amenities in the LCDA.
Speaking at the event, Olojede described the milestone as a season of progress, purpose, and renewed hope, highlighting the administration’s commitment to deepen President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda which emphasizes good governance, green initiatives, learning, wellness, infrastructure, and youth & sports development as well as support for the vulnerable segments of the society particularly the senior citizens and widows.
Meanwhile, no fewer than 3,000 residents of the LCDA benefited from food palliatives and financial aid ahead of December festivities. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to alleviate poverty in the area and boost socio-economic empowerment of the less privileged. The Chairman added that the interventions would be sustained for over a couple of quarters.
Some Estates and resident association also received cheques from the LCDA to address some of their immediate needs that can bring new lease of life to their corridor.
“Today is not just a celebration of time in office; it is an occasion of thanksgiving, accountability, and renewed commitment to the people who entrusted us with this sacred mandate,” Olojede said, addressing party leaders, councillors, community leaders, and invited guests.
In the first 100 days, the administration has achieved a visible and measurable set of milestones, including timely intervention on Community road Satellite Town; Jimoh Street, Agboju off Old Ojo Road; Moshalashi street-Onireke Community, opposite Ojo Army Barracks; Ayinke Timpson Phase 2 Satellite Town, etc many of which have been completed for the greater good of the residents.
Chairman Olojede also assured stakeholders that measures are also being put in place to improve on security in the LCDA, noting that the Police Station in the area which had been built for more than 40 years would be properly rehabilitated to cater to the security concerns of the populace.
However, an invited guest and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Senator (Ambassador) Musiliu Obanikoro praised the administration, noting that the feats recorded by Olojede reflect a deep understanding of the community’s needs and set a new benchmark for service delivery.
The immediate past chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Ramotalai Olanrewaju Akinlola-Hassan equally commended Olojede for prioritizing the welfare of the community. She also expressed appreciation for the chairman’s doggedness and attentiveness to wise counsel.
Chairman Olojede further emphasized that the first 100 days represent just the beginning of his administration’s mission. “Our journey has just begun. We are committed to accelerating infrastructure development, expanding empowerment programs, deepening education reforms, and making Oriade LCDA a model of grassroots governance in Lagos State,” he said.
He urged residents to actively participate in community development by protecting public assets, obeying the law, and fulfilling civic responsibilities, including paying levies and rates.
“Together, we will build Oriade LCDA of our dreams, peaceful, prosperous, and progressive,” Olojede added, concluding with prayers for continued progress for the LCDA, Lagos State, and Nigeria.
Those who honored the event with their presence were Hon. Rauf Olawale Age-Sulaimon, Member Lagos State House of Assembly, Amuwo-Odofin Constituency II, Hon. Prince Lanre Sanusi, Executive vice Chairman of Oriade LCDA, Hon. Ariyo Abolore Adebayo, Leader of the House and Councilors of the legislative arm of the LCDA, Iya Oloja General of Oriade LCDA Market Women & Men Alhaja Tawakalitu Balogun, Olori Apashe Toyin Famakinwa-Tijani (immediate past LASIEC Commissioner Lagos State).
Also in attendance were numerous APC leaders and chieftains, councillors, traditional and religious leaders, underscoring the administration’s commitment to transformative governance, responsive leadership, and community-centered development.
Similarly leaders of CDC and CDA were as well present; representatives of Igbo community, Chief Simon Eze the CEO of Golden Tree Hotel and Seamark Electric Company Limited and Hon. Peter Damian Ezemegwalu, landlords/tenant association, religious leaders, Heads of Departments and Units, bussiness owners/captain of industries, law enforcement agencies and several other stakeholders.
