Celebrity journalist and a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, Bashorun Dele Momodu has expressed sadness over the death of an elder statesman and renowned Afenifere leader, Pa Ayodele Adebanjo.
VERACITY DESK reports that the foremost nationalist died on Friday, February 14, 2025 at his home in Lagos State at the age of 96.
In a social media post on Saturday, Chief Momodu sais he was honored always by the deceased’s kind words to him and that he would certainly miss his wise counsel.

Bashorun wrote, “When the news broke out yesterday that PA AYO ADEBANJO “has passed on”, I was not too surprised. “Baba Adebanjo,” as we fondly called him, really prepared for this final moment, a debt we all owe, which he regularly announced to me whenever he called or I called him. He emphasized to PASTOR TUNDE BAKARE and I, the last time I visited, that the end was near and he expected us to carry on the battle to rescue Nigeria from anti-democratic forces. I was honored always by his kind words to me and I’ll certainly miss his wise counsel.
