Otunba Segun Showunmi, convener of the National Opposition Movement Coalition (NOMC), a platform aimed at fostering grassroots consensus for the selection of future leaders has congratulated General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.) on his appointment as the new Defence Minister even has he commended President Bola Tinubu for his better choice.
Showunmi also commended General Musa’s career in the Nigerian Armed Forces, highlighting his discipline, courage, and unwavering dedication to protecting Nigeria’s sovereignty.
The convener of NOMC further expressed his strong confidence in the ability of Musa to confront and address the persistent security challenges affecting the nation. With rising concerns over violent crimes, terrorism, banditry, and communal tensions across parts of the country, Nigerians are hopeful that his tenure will usher in a more stable, secure, and peaceful environment for all.

Today, with General Christopher Musa stepping forward as Nigeria’s new Minister of Defence, the message to the nation is firm and unmistakable: this government is done yielding to fear, done tolerating disorder, and done allowing insecurity to challenge the dignity of our people.
