Today, I will be standing in the gap at this event on behalf of Nigeria. Not on behalf of some Nigerians but on behalf of all Nigerians. That is the duty of leadership: to speak for the whole, not for a faction.
I hope I can share the recording afterwards, because it is essential that we continue to shape and protect the narrative of Africa’s most populous and consequential nation. Nigeria must never be defined by others. We must define ourselves.
For mischaracterization is not just a temporary inconvenience it is a long-term danger. It distorts our progress, undermines our credibility, and weakens the future we are striving to build.
And so, today, I carry the responsibility of presenting our nation’s story clearly, confidently, and truthfully. It is a duty I embrace with pride, and with the understanding that the world must see Nigeria as it truly is: resilient, rising, and ready to lead.
